Nicholas Tay's journey within AIA Singapore has been nothing short of remarkable. Starting his career in 1993 shortly after graduating from NTU with a degree in accountancy, Nicholas quickly recognised the potential within the financial advisory business to achieve his goal of financial independence. His ambition and drive saw him becoming a member of the prestigious Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) within just two years, setting the stage for a distinguished career spanning over three decades.

In 1996, Nicholas established TrueNorth Financial, a district that would come to redefine success within AIA Singapore. Under his visionary leadership, TrueNorth Financial achieved the status of No. 1 team in AIA Singapore in 2001 under the Financial Services Associate Director category and has been recognised as one of the top Pinnacle Districts for 24 consecutive years, with consistent ranking among the Top 10 Districts since 2020.

Nicholas's leadership extends well beyond accolades. He has been pivotal in cultivating an environment that prioritises training, mentoring, and coaching—a culture proven by TrueNorth Financial's distinguished MDRT District Award, won for 13 consecutive years. In 2021, the district was honoured as the Top MDRT District for producing the highest number of MDRT qualifiers. By 2026, more than 60% of TrueNorth Financial's consultants have achieved MDRT status, with Nicholas himself attaining the most prestigious Top of the Table membership.

Behind every successful leader is a story of mentorship and guidance, and Nicholas attributes much of his district's success to the invaluable support from his mentors and peers.
